It is well known that customers only buy what they can see. Therefore, regular and permanent shelf management is required in retail. In order to avoid the costly and time-consuming aligning and repositioning of goods, it is worth investing in a shelf organization system - it will pay for itself after a few weeks simply by reducing shelf maintenance costs.
A shelf management system usually consists of shelf dividers, product pusher and profile rails. But how does a product pusher work and what is so special about the Oechsle slow-feed pushers?
A spring connects the pusher housing to the front anchor, which is attached to a rail on the front edge of the shelf. Products that are placed between the pusher housing and the front anchor are pushed continuously to the front edge of the shelf with spring force. A sliding rail is also used for products that slide with difficulty and on wire shelves. A small ramp on the front anchor lifts the foremost pack so that it is always easily accessible. By choosing the spring strength (between 2 and 14 Newtons), the pusher force can be easily adapted to different shelf configurations. The appropriate product pusher is selected depending on the weight and depth of the product pack.
In addition to the standard pusher, Oechsle has developed the slow feed pushers. The special product pusher, which is gentle on sensitive products despite the powerful 10 N spring. With this pusher variant, thanks to a special mechanism, the products slide slowly and in a controlled manner against the front of the shelf with adapted force. The slow feed also supports the filling with new products. If the pusher is pushed back first, the products can easily be put into the compartment with both hands due to the resulting delay effect. The slow-feed pusher is also suitable for stacked products: The goods slide gently forward, so the space on the shelf can always be optimally used. In combination with transparent covers, this pusher also provides reliable protection against theft. Since the product packs slide forward slowly, it is impossible to remove several packs with one handle. The products are safe and yet not locked away, and at the same time remain attractively positioned and freely accessible to the buyer.
