OEK Milestones

A common thread runs through our history. Development and innovation accompany us on the way. We tell you the story of Oechsle. With all the milestones.

1956  Company foundation It all started with a small insulating piece in the laundry room of the couple Hermann and Rosa Oechsle in Leipheim. Fascinated by the new possibilities provided by Bakelite, the first industrially produced plastic, the founding couple produced technical injection moulded parts such as insulators and meter housings for the electrical industry and thread bobbins for the textile industry.

1959  Construction of own business premises Telefunken and Siemens are customers. Business goes so well that in 1960 the company moves into its own business premises - now with three employees. Thermoplastic moulded parts are also produced from 1960.

The 70s  Development of the showcard frame profile Hermann Oechsle becomes a pioneer for plastic showcard frames. Today, the practical and robust frames are international standards for the point of sale in department stores, supermarkets and specialist shops around the globe.

1977  Attachment of additional warehouse After the company building had already been extended in 1964, a warehouse was added in 1977.

From the end of the 70s  International distribution The demand continues to increase. Hermann Oechsle establishes his own distribution network with agencies in Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia.

1981  Premiere: Oechsle at Euroshop The company presents itself to an international audience for the first time at the world's largest trade fair for the needs of the retail trade, Euroshop in Düsseldorf.

1988  The next generation The daughter Margit Oechsle joins the company as managing director. The business administration graduate had already worked in her parents' business as a teenager – including forklift driving.

1989  New company headquarters Oechsle moves into a 1,800 m2 building complex with production halls, despatch, administration rooms and a large warehouse. The new injection moulding machines are partly computer-controlled. Production areas for new future markets are added. There are now 30 employees.
