Our technical manager Andi Brück and key account manager Matthias Dammann realised an optimisation of the shelf management in the area of deep-freezing/ice cream at Feneberg in Bad Saulgau, Germany. Mr. Thorsten Rothenberger, responsible for the area of "assortment and sales room planning" at Feneberg for this field, found the current presentation of the ice cream cups not customer-friendly in handling. The removal of the products from the upper shelves became difficult due to the shelf height as soon as the first cups in the upper rows were sold out.
As an expert for shelf management systems, we had the solution to both problems with our gliding plate. Frozen products also glide on the wear-resistant plastic surface of the plate right up to the front of the shelf. Since the sliding plate consists of a plastic sheet extruded in one piece, it not only has excellent hygienic properties, but also allows the installation of any type of shelf, such as wire shelves as in the Carrier Velando furniture from Feneberg, without any problems. Before inserting the gliding panel, only the standard brackets of the shelves are tilted to 10°. Then the panel, individually cut to the respective floor dimensions, is inserted and fitted with matching PRIMA 4 shelf dividers (height 120 mm). The cups now stand neatly next to each other, no longer get caught in the wire base and slide up to the shelf front thanks to gravity.
Mr Rothenberger is also enthusiastic. "Besides the easy maintenance and care of the gliding plate, this product also scores with its high functionality, a beautiful and clean overall appearance.” The customers in Bad Saulgau now always have a well-kept shelf appearance and the ice cream is always within reach.
